January 8-9 VOKE Children’s Choir Festival, FairfaxArtistic Director Elaine Quilichini was the Guest Conductor of the Virginia Organization of Kodály Educators (VOKE) Children’s Choir Festival, at the George Mason Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfax, Virginia. January 19 Olympic Torch Relay Community Celebration, ChestermereMs. Quilichini and Viva choristers performed the Olympic Torch Relay anthem, There’s a Light / Cette Flamme, at the Chestermere Olympic Torch Celebration on January 19. Chestermere was one of only four Celebration points on the relay route through the City of Calgary and surrounding area. CGC is proud to have been selected to participate in this historic event.

February 10-13 2010 ACDA Eastern Division Conference, PhiladelphiaMs. Quilichini will be the Guest Conductor of the Children’s Honor Choir at the Eastern Division Regional Conference of the American Choral Directors Association. She will also present an Interest Session, ‘Teach a Child to Read: The Recipe for a Lifelong Relationship with Music’. February 27 15th Anniversary Gala Celebration“making good friends, making great music, and achieving levels we never thought we could. There are no limits!”
Join us as we celebrate our milestone 15th Anniversary.

On February 27, Calgary Girls Choir will host a spectacular fundraising dinner and auction at the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club. During the evening, Gala guests will be graced with musical presentations from various Choir members. Guests will also be treated to a sensational dinner with a hint of Italy in the food and wine.

Funds raised will support the ongoing work of the Choir, including the following primary areas: Program development, rehearsal space improvements, and the Choir’s Tour to Italy.

March 3-6 2010 ACDA North Central Division Conference, MinneapolisMs. Quilichini will be the Guest Conductor of the Children’s Honor Choir (Elementary) at the North Central Division Regional Conference of the American Choral Directors Association. Information: www.ncacda.org

March 13 Zoo Much Fun! Junior Program Showcase & FundraiserA wonderful concert presented by the Junior Program, followed by fun & games for everyone! 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Chapel of Calgary.

May 1 Celebrate! ConcertJoin Artistic Director Elaine Quilichini and the Viva, Allegra and Ragazze choirs for an evening of extraordinary music to celebrate 2009-2010, an outstanding season. 7:30 p.m. at the Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary.

May 15 Junior Spring RecitalArtistic Director Elaine Quilichini, Junior Program instructors, accompanists, and Prima, Bella and Dolce singers present their final performance for this season. Join them and share in their musical growth this year! 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Chapel of Calgary.

May 30 Italy, Pre-tour ConcertA chance to enjoy the music that the Choir’s tour ensemble of Viva, Allegra and Ragazze choristers will perform in Italy under the direction of Elaine Quilichini. July 1 to 12 will include six exciting performances and numerous sightseeing adventures from Venice to Rome. 7:30 p.m. at the Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary.
