Wanda Le, Instructor - Junior Program
Wanda Le received a Bachelor of Music with Distinction and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. During her studies, her love of children and music led her to focus on Kodály Pedagogy and to specialize in elementary music education. She has also completed the graduate program at the Summer Kodály Institute at the University of Calgary and holds a graduate diploma in Fine Arts. In addition to the Calgary Girl’s Choir, Wanda’s work in her school as an elementary music specialist has met high praise as her choirs have won numerous awards at both local and provincial music festivals.

Lesley Hadford, Instructor - Junior Program
Lesley Hadford holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Distinction and a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in early childhood education from the University of Calgary. Lesley also holds a graduate diploma in fine arts from the University of Calgary’s Summer Kodály Institute. She is an experienced Ragazze chorister and gifted soprano soloist. Lesley is also an elementary music specialist with the Calgary Board of Education, and teaches Prima, Bella and Dolce classes in her fifth year as an instructor in the Junior Program.

Andrea Wettstein, Instructor - Junior Program
Andrea Wettstein holds a Master of Music in composition and Bachelor of Music with distinction in theory and composition from the University of Western Ontario. As a composer, Andrea truly enjoys writing for the voice. Her Masters’ thesis was a chamber opera for two tenors, baritone and chamber orchestra entitled ‘Three Men in a Tub’. Andrea began singing in the Calgary Girls Choir at the age of ten, and is thrilled to be part of CGC again, in her second year as an instructor with the Junior Program.

Leticia Christensen, Instructor - Junior Program
After finishing her piano studies at Academia de Musica de Ponta Grossa, Brazil, Leticia Christensen moved to Calgary and graduated from Mount Royal College in Piano Performance. She has taught privately for many years as well as directed choirs for her church congregation both in Calgary and Brazil. More recently, she was the director for the LDS Calgary Institute of Religion Choir and loved every minute of it. This is Leticia’s first year with the Calgary Girls Choir as a Junior Program instructor and she is thrilled to be part of it.

Rosanna Redd, Instructor - Junior Program
Rosanna Redd has completed the requirements for her Bachelor of Music and is currently completing her final year for her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. In addition to teaching voice and piano at her private studio, Rosanna has conducted and directed choirs of all age groups through her church. Throughout her education, Rosanna has sought out opportunities to perform in choirs, as a soloist, and in local community musical theatre. Rosanna has achieved awards and honors from the Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival, NATS Calgary, the Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of Lethbridge, and the University of Calgary. This is Rosanna’s first year as an instructor with the Junior Program.

Helen Cox, Vocal Coaching
Helen Cox is an experienced chorister and soprano soloist. She has been singing since the age of three in Kodály programs, children’s choirs and most recently with the University of Calgary Women’s Choir under the direction of Elaine Quilichini. Helen has competed as a soloist at the Kiwanis Music Festival for many years and has performed with the Calgary Opera Chorus for two seasons. Helen is now a vocal coach with the Junior Program.

Gwen Yearwood, Vocal Coaching
Gwen Yearwood has sung with the Calgary Girls Choir under the direction of Elaine Quilichini for the past thirteen years, and is currently a member of the senior ensemble, Ragazze. For the past three years, she worked with the Junior Program as a Rehearsal Assistant, and this year became a vocal coach. Gwen is a soprano soloist and in September will start university, working towards a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance.

Edward Choi, Accompanist
Edward Choi is a graduate of Oberlin College Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in piano and clarinet performance. He now resides in Calgary and teaches at his private studio. Edward is in his sixth season with Calgary Girls Choir, presently as the senior accompanist for the Ragazze and Allegra choirs.


Jenny-Lynn McCue, Accompanist
Jenny-Lynn McCue holds her Bachelor of Music with Distinction from the University of Alberta, where she studied both piano and violin. She also received a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, and the Kodály Diploma from the university’s graduate program. Jenny-Lynn holds an Associate diploma in violin and solo Performer diploma in piano from the Western Board of Music. Jenny-Lynn has worked with Ms. Quilichini and the Choir for many years, and now accompanies Viva.

Colin Redekop, Accompanist
A native of Winnipeg, Colin Redekop recently moved to Calgary following several years of musical activity in both the United States and Canada. He serves as the music director of Grace Presbyterian Church and is enrolled in the Master of Music program at the University of Calgary, studying organ performance with Neil Cockburn. Colin, in his second year with the Choir, is a Junior Program accompanist.

Grace Ann, Accompanist
Grace Ann received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Calgary and Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. In 2004, she completed the graduate program at the Summer Kodály Institute at the University of Calgary, and also joined the faculty of the Early Childhood Kodály Musicianship Program at Mount Royal College Conservatory for a period of three years. Grace directed Arietta, the youngest group in the family of choirs at MRC Conservatory, 2006-2008. Grace is an elementary music specialist with the Calgary Board of Education, and in her first year as Junior Program accompanist.
